Overview: To develop the concept of the the Neo-Noir ,New-york Rooftop I first thing I did to start the process was gather and annotate numerous pictures of architecture and stylistic elements from games with similar themes. I then created multiple smaller concepts to explore various ways in which the level could transpire ,with various action events visualised in addition to routes lighting options, and architecture this was done using whitebox and photobashing techniques as well as hand painting.I also created two quick illustrations exploring mood ,this was to get a feel for the atmosphere and style of the potential game. After this stage I decided to take the best elemnts of the previous concepts and splice them together into the final Concept. When this was done I had the knowledge I needed to plan the players route and subsequently had knowledge of what key assets needed to be visualised. Finaly I created multiple keyframe gamplay 'shots' via whiteboxing, photobashing and painting techniques showing how various key scenes in the game would look ,this . The more polished of these could be used as various promo shots in an art book.

Conclusion: looking back I'm overall pleased with the outcome though I feel the final gameplay shots aren't as polished as I'd like them to be . I mainly put this down to time constrains and lack of expierience with enviroment based illustrations/concepts. I felt I learned a few new techniques within this project and alot more about timekeeping and planning. Next time I feel my concepting would be more varied and explorative ,perhaps I wouldn't try and bite off more than I could chew with all the various elements taking place within this proposed level and instead make a much more simpler yet refined level.
